What type of chimney does the MagnuM ZC Fireplace use?

The MagnuM ZC fireplace is listed for 7” or 8” Type HT 2100 degree metal chimney. The starter collar should make a good connection within the unit and be properly secured to the top of the unit using screws. Go to the MagnuM ZC Owner's Manual for more information.

Can I put a gas starter in the MagnuM ZC Fireplace?

The MagnuM ZC fireplace has been approved for use with a properly listed gas log lighter. The factory does not supply the gas log lighter.

Is the MagnuM ZC Fireplace approved for mobile home use?

NO, the MagnuM ZC fireplace is not approved for mobile home installations.

Maintenance

Daily and Weekly Maintenance

  • Daily: Clean glass if needed, empty ashes, clean off outer surfaces
  • Daily: Open draft and burn wood at a fast pace to self-clean venting and inner unit
  • Weekly:Clean ashes, glass and outer surfaces
  • Weekly: Make sure that wood supply is dry
  • Monthly: Check chimney connections for leakage
  • Monthly: Do thorough cleaning of unit inside and out
  • Monthly: Check chimney for build-up, clean if needed

Spring Cleaning

  • Yearly: Empty unit of all fuel, take wood outside for summer storage
  • Yearly: Clean out inside, remove firebrick, vacuum and lightly oil surfaces
  • Yearly: Clean venting system, check connections
  • Yearly: Discard all old rotting wood, cover good wood for summer
  • Yearly: Clean Glass, repaint rusted surfaces, oil hinges and door handles
